-"Sun Crown" (2020-2024) Many tracks remixed in 2024! I tried going back to my roots with similar production techniques as "BA Solo Projects" and "Block Two", while taking opportunities to use all the skills I learned over the years recording and jamming with friends.
This is my archive of audio files for songs I've produced since 2008. I still consider myself an amateur musician, composer, and producer despite doing these projects for over a decade. Many of these records are what I consider half-baked, works in progress and still requiring some work. Ultimately, time gets the best of us all and after enough time passed, I figured I'd leave well enough alone and move on to the next idea. And yet...sometimes I get the itch of nostalgia...
FYI, these are sequential by release time.
P.S. Appologise for speeling erors ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
-"BA Solo Projects" (2008-2009) was my first crack at multi-track recording, with more instruments like Bass and Drums, thanks to Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) projects like Audacity! At this point in my life, I was playing acoustic guitar at school with my friends. Many of the records on this are based on songs I jammed with friends acoustically along with formalized versions of tracks from "36" and noodling I did while I was still learning guitar.
-"Block Two" (2011-2012) took multi-track recording to another level, thanks to FL Studio free demo software, which helped me produce drum tracks with ease, combined with Audacity, using familiar recording techniques I learned during "BA Solo Projects".
-"Waveform B" (2012-2013) I started exploring other digital audio workstation (DAW) software, including ProTools, Nuendo, FL Studio Mobile, before finally landing on Ableton Live as my go-to audio production suite. I also started using MIDI controllers to add more instruments to my tracks like piano, synthesizers, strings, pads, and better arranged drum tracks. I also started making more use of Live's built-in samples and loops to streamline the production and recording process.
-"Alternate Ending" (2014) I settled into Ableton Live, starting in familiar territory with "One Last Time", a reimagining of my callibration jam. I delved into covers, honing in on my production capabilities.
-"Fields" (2015) I leaned more into Ableton Live's producer/DJ capabilities, honing my skills with MIDI and electronic/EDM style arrangements. Also returned to my roots, doing "36" style recordings with my acoustic guitar and improvising vocals on a portable Tascam Recorder.
-"Red, Orange, Yellow" (2016-2019) I continued to leverage Live's DJ tools, utilizing built in loops and samples more heavily. There's a noticeable difference in how much more electronic and swingy some of the tracks seem, though, some acoustic and rock elements remain.
-"Sun Crown" (2020-2024) Many tracks remixed in 2024! I tried going back to my roots with similar production techniques as "BA Solo Projects" and "Block Two", while taking opportunities to use all the skills I learned over the years recording and jamming with friends.
